Title:Field Superintendent-SC


Responsible for managing all day to day field operations on project(s). Leading the installation of casework, solid surfaces (excluding quartz) and trim building while supervising and training other Installation Technicians. Provides exceptional quality work and positive customer service. Responsible for all aspects of site installation. Has the ability to do difficult cabinet & solid surface installation and trim work.  


Average of 50 hours per week. Nights, weekends and out of town/out of State trips are required. Ability to work overtime. Start time 6:00 am; finish time 4:00 pm (subject to change based on job need).



  • High School Degree or GED

  • Must have a clean driving record

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience within the construction industry, preferably in casework/millwork industries.  

  • Detailed understanding of architectural drawings and specifications as well as general terms and conditions of contracts.

  • Familiarity with the Architectural Woodwork Industry and its affiliates preferred. 

  • Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products 

  • OSHA Certification and/or First Aid/CPR Certification preferred but not required.

  • College or Technical Education preferred but not required.

  • Proven leadership success.

  • Experience in managing multiple projects.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to delegate work as required.

  • Strong decision/problem solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.

  • Ability to maintain professional discretion and confidentiality at all times.

  • Can effectively defuse situations, and find solutions to site situations. 


  • Attend project initiation meetings prepared with knowledge of scope and potential challenges. 

  • Closely monitor, record and communicate scope, schedules and financial changes made throughout projects. 

  • Accurately manage all information flow and project schedules by working closely with internal department managers, customers and external vendors. 

  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers, including GC representatives, owner reps, architects, and all project related parties

  • Commit to respectfully communicate both good and “not so good” information to customers.

  • Assist in providing required technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, recommendation of preferred construction and installation methods while staying in accordance with the intended design, install budget and project schedule.

  • Field inspection of Adams Group and sub contract installations for compliance to contract drawings and documents as provided by the Adams Group Drafting Department.

  • Provide project managers status updates on the job. 

  • Works closely with the Production Manager to determine work flow necessities and schedule accordingly.

  • Manage field measurement process with Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager.

  • Develop, communicate and measure productivity and budgets to measure the profitability throughout each project.

  • Coordinate subcontractor installation. 

  • Determine which subcontractors are used on outsourced items and proactively seek new vendors.

  • Know and work within the confines of the project budget/durations.

  • Pursue, build and maintain positive relationships with contractors, subcontractors and vendors. 

  • Attend job site meetings when required.

  • Field measure/review status of project site early and often

  • Coordinate unloading/receiving of deliveries. Communicate back to production any missing/damaged items.

  • Hire subcontractors/laborers as needed on a project to stay on schedule and within budget.

  • Review/maintain truck maintenance, tool inventory, and potential needs.

  • Communicate potential safety/OSHA, background checks/badging need for specific projects.

  • Rent needed equipment as needed on a project to stay on schedule and within budget.

  • Manage daily production schedules and detailed short-term schedules as required

  • Manage Daily Field reporting documents with manpower allocations, delivery schedules, install progress and Safety and Accident reporting

  • Communicate to Project Management Team any additional items needed to complete project.

  • Review and develop plan to address warranty items.

  • Review potential upcoming work.

  • Communicate hotel and per diem needs for a project.

  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices and rectify job site hazards immediately.

  • Evaluate performance of others and discuss ways that team members can improve their knowledge.

  • Interpret blueprints and shop drawings and corrects errors prior to installation.

  • Inspect and verify casework & solid surface installation according to Company quality control standards

  • Provide feedback related to manpower needs and provide recommendations to Project Executive and Human Resources. 

  • Provide leadership to the team, including timely evaluation of performance, counseling, training, motivating and communicating efficiently. Provide direction and corrective action as needed

  • Hire, terminate, train, instruct, assign and check work of subordinates as to Company policies and procedures, methods and practices, standards of performance and other matters effecting their work

  • Motivate, encourage and be a resources for all direct reports

  • Support and enforce all company policies and procedures

  • Work positively and efficiently with other team members
