Adams Group is now recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join our team! The Ideal Team Player will manage a department of Microvellum Engineers and Technical Library for our architectural woodworking manufacturing team in North Port, FL. Must have a strong mechanical background and proven success leading teams. Will work with a digital environment while also working with design professionals at the project level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and train a team of Microvellum Engineers

  • Train crew with best practices to ensure continuity amongst Engineering Team in how the product is delivered to the shop

  • Set up and manage models or digital files with sheets specific to each project

  • Coordinating with project team members and process and document engineer in order to outline and drive the appropriate digital practices and deliverables on a per-project basis

  • Supporting the project team and process engineer with their designs by equipping the members with the necessary tools and knowledge in order to streamline design.

  • Review full end-to-end process of drafting, modify/refine and document standard operating process to continuously make the drafting team as efficient as possible and improve throughput

  • Work with the manufacturing shop on Engineering issues that require an immediate fix, provide feedback and training when necessary

  • Provide feedback to Process and Product Engineer

  • Assist in calling audible when a change in priority is necessary

  • Represent the Engineering Department at initiations

  • Ensure the team members have attended necessary training and are up-to-speed on necessary industry-specific technology

  • Assist in keeping Engineers on schedule by creating and monitoring benchmarks to ensure timely turnaround

  • Provides quality control measures within the Engineering department 

  • Interacts with the Production Manager, Project Manager and Field Superintendents as needed to ensure products are being drafted and engineered to specifications. 



 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5-7 years of experience with AutoCAD, Cut Rite, WoodWOP, Microvellum and other industry-related software. 

  • Proven experience motivating and mentoring team members to success

  • Strong overall computer & architectural drafting skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Impeccable time management and organization skills

  • Strong analytical skills required

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proven Industry experience  

 

WORK HOURS:

Average of 45-50 hours per week. Start time 7:00 am; finish time 5:00 pm (subject to change based on job need), or the necessary hours needed to perform successfully.
