Applicants should possess the following minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

  • Possess complete knowledge of the architectural woodworking business including, but not       limited to; cabinets, trim work and solid surface
  • Excellent ability to multi-task and keep up-to-date knowledge of project processes
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work well under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Strong overall computer skills with strong aptitude for learning Adams Group specific programs
  • Ability to read and understand architectural construction drawings and specifications
  • Be a catalyst for change
  •  Ability to travel to local or out-of-town meetings
  • Clean driving record is a requirement


The position responsibilities include:

  • Works closely with Director of Installation & Plant Manager to determine work flow necessities and schedule accordingly
  • Communicate with Project Draftsman and Engineers on what the expectations and needs are for given projects
  • Works closely with the Director of Engineering and team leaders throughout the drafting process
  • Review all project scopes prior to hand off meeting – note any challenges
  • Manage project schedule and coordinate schedules with clients
  • Create and manage change requests and field measuring
  • Manage information to all departments: drafting, engineering, manufacturing and installation
  • Maintain accurate information by regular communication with General Contractor
  • Review shop drawings prior to submittal to General Contractor
  • Coordinate installation schedule with General Contractor
  • Furnish Purchasing with preliminary and final material requirements for projects when necessary
  • Monitor and address back orders, adjust communication channels accordingly
  • Attend jobsite meetings or properly coordinate with assistant project manager
  • Work within the confines of a budget and know projected contribution margin at financial review meetings
  • Issue or approve all change orders
  • Resolve project scope issues and develop contingency plan if necessary
  • Determine timeframe and amounts to be billed on all jobs
  • Set up Schedule of Values on jobs dictating the necessity
  • Coordinate subcontractor installation
  • Determine which subcontractors are used on outsourced items and proactively seek new ones
  • Report on profitability
  • Generate job summary document on each project
  • Identify long lead time items/travel
  • Treat each client respectfully and communicate both good and sometimes “not so good” information to the client
  • Understanding the Project Managers relationship with the General Contractor can be a determining factor for or against future work. A Project Manager MUST at all times attempt to maintain a professional and positive working relationship with all contacts within a general contracting firm
