POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping Assistance is part of Adams Group manufacturing team and will prepare all outgoing shipments for project installation. This includes, loading box trucks in an organized and efficient manner, lifting in a safe manner with a team member when necessary, keeping inventory of all items being shipped at all times. This position is a physical position and will require bending, stooping, lifting items 50-120 lbs using a hand truck, and being on your feet for extended hours. The hours for this position are 6:00 am to 4:00 pm.

WORK HOURS:

Average of 50 hours per week and weekends may be required. Ability to work overtime. Start time 6:00 am; finish time 4:00 pm (subject to change based on job need).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Strong ability to be self-motivated to insure all work is completed quickly and timely
  • Ability to identify and use basic hand tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Math skills such as adding and subtracting
  • High attention to detail
  • Clean and neat appearance
  • Knowledge of packing finished products in a safe, efficient manner, minimizing potential damage to the products
  • Ability to read and utilize checklists
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, floor plans, and shop drawings.
  • Positive attitude toward personnel, department and company goals
  • Demonstrates respect for fellow team members and customers
  • Takes responsibility for getting the work done
  • Be able to lift 75lbs on a regular basis
  • Strong computer proficiency

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Asks for help with lifting when item requires a team lift to load
  • Operate stretch wrap banders both safely and efficiently
  • Operates hand trucks to move, hoist, or load materials into different areas of the manufacturing shop or onto trucks for delivery to job sites
  • Ensures shipping checklist is complete, and all pictures are taken of shipment
  • Prepares all paperwork that accompanies shipment to jobsite, ensures that computer is updated
  • Load final product(s) onto trucks achieving an organized and secure load
  • Provide excellent quality control, load product in a timely manner with no damage
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Performs general housekeeping, maintenance, and organization of the loading dock and inventory areas and follows prescribed safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
